Electra Glide in Blue
Colorado filmmaker James William Guercio produced and directed one film,
Electra Glide In Blue from 1973.
In 1972, Mr Guercio was in the middle of construction of his famous Caribou recording
studio in Nederland when it came time to leave for Arizona to work on the film. Nearby
Gold Hill resident Joe Walsh convinced him to finish building the studio before he left!
Caribou studios was soon responsible for hits like Walsh’s Rocky Mountain Way and
Rick Derringer’s Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo.
Electra Glide in Blue is an existential wide-open-road film in a similar vein to
Easy Rider or Two Lane Blacktop. Robert Blake plays a great role and the
Arizona scenery is outstanding, like John Ford in color!
