Lost their guitarist, that year to Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band who were the house band at Denver’s Whisky A-Go-Go on Evans. The Whisky later became famous as The Family Dog and is now PT’s

The original JAGS started in Wellington, Kansas. Dolphie Ybarra (center in the photo) was part of this group. Dolphie died around 2000.

For those of you who are wondering about Dolph and the music of the “The Fantabulous Jags” you can contact me for more information. I’m his oldest son who became his keyboard player and backup vocals during his tour circuit of the western states. In the early 1980’s, he was based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. We provided the “Classic Dolph” style of entertainment at the casino showrooms in Wendover,Nevada during the grand opening days of that now booming town in Nevada. I reside in Las Vegas, NV now and the club the JAGS played at on the famous Fremont St. in downtown Vegas still stands. Back when “The Fantabulous Jags” left Denver, CO, they were booked at the ‘Silver Slipper’ Casino. It is now the Mermaid Casino. At this time I am interested in seeking any video footage of his performances/pictures.
