This is right across the street from where my grandfather’s drugstore was for decades. (Most recently a Blockbuster. Still there? It was the only part of the old shopping center left standing when it was rebuilt.)

I wish my interest and appreciation of this style of architecture had developed earlier. Then again, maybe the constant daily exposure as I grew up planted the seed.

Ok, I looked, the building is still there, it’s vacant now, the Blockbuster is gone.

Even in tired Wheat Ridge, I can’t see that site being vacant for long. But then, these days, who knows?
